NIDA Joints with Ecosystem Partners to Build a Wireless Intelligent Sensing Industry Ecosystem
Currently, AI is driving digital intelligence upgrades in various industries, and campus network requirements are fundamentally changing. The network has changed from simply connecting people to connecting IoT devices and environment elements, and has been upgraded from traditional "communication transmission" to "intelligent awareness".
At the 3rd Network Innovation and Development Conference hosted by the Global Fixed Network Innovation Alliance (NIDA), Zhao Shaoqi, president of the campus network domain of Huawei Data Communication Product Line, proposed the concept of "Wi-Fi + X". Wi-Fi APs (access points) integrate IoT, awareness, and security capabilities, providing new impetus for the digital transformation of campuses in various industries, which coincides with the wireless intelligent awareness initiative of NIDA.

In the "Wi-Fi + X" concept, "X" contains two layers of deep thinking about the future of campus networks. Technology capability convergence is the foundation, that is, convergence of IoT and perception capabilities based on Wi-Fi communication capabilities. This means that future Wi-Fi networks will have high-speed wireless connectivity, Internet of Everything (IoT) access through multiple IoT protocols, and intelligent sensing capabilities based on CSI and millimeter wave. This convergence is no longer simple function overlay, but in-depth integration of "All in AP". Unlimited scenario expansion is the second layer meaning, that is, Wi-Fi is the anchor point to enable various scenarios and applications in a wide variety of industries. Just as smartphones have penetrated every aspect of life and work, Wi-Fi application scenarios will be extended infinitely, becoming a source of imagination and creativity, driving campus network service boundary expansion and value transition.
Ms. Li Hongpeng, member of the Strategic Advisory Committee of NIDA and Secretary-General of the Engineering Intelligent Design Branch of China Survey and Design Association, stressed that unified standards and industry collaboration are essential to campus network construction and industry application implementation. Therefore, to implement complex connections of people, things, and scenarios in the campus and support the construction of an efficient smart campus platform, cooperation between upstream and downstream industries and other industry practitioners is required.

As the integration of the digital and physical worlds continues to deepen, the intelligent awareness industry ecosystem will improve the efficiency and security of industry campus operations, accelerate the implementation of industry applications, and reap more fruitful results from digital transformation in the future. To this end, NIDA welcomes all ecosystem partners to jointly build a wireless intelligent awareness industry ecosystem and provide better solutions for industry customers.
