Malaysia Multimedia University MMU and NIDA Sign a Strategic Cooperation Agreement to Work Together on IPv6 Security Standards
[Kuala Lumpur, October 16, 2025] The 2nd Global IPv6 Security Symposium was held in the MMU Reporting Hall of the Multimedia University of Malaysia. The MMU of the Multimedia University of Malaysia and the Global Fixed Network Innovation Alliance (NIDA) signed an MOU. The two sides reached a strategic cooperation agreement on the cooperative development of IPv6 security standards. MMU President, Professor Datuk, Professor Dr.Mazliham Mohd Su 'ud, and Professor Dr.Sureswaran Ramadass, Vice-President of NIDA Alliance, attended the signing ceremony as representatives of both sides.

MMU Malaysia's first officially private university, founded in 1996 by Malaysia's largest telecommunications company, Telekom Malaysia, is a leading university focusing on information and communication technology and creative multimedia, and enjoys a high reputation in Malaysia and even Southeast Asia. NIDA is an international, industrial, and non-profit social organization that is voluntarily formed by industry institutions, universities, research institutes, and companies around the world and focuses on promoting fixed network technology innovation and industrial upgrading. Focus on research on the development trend of the fixed network industry, define the next generation and architecture of the Internet for 2030, and jointly carry out technological innovation, implementation, incubation, standardization, and testing and certification.
The cooperation between the two sides will further strengthen NIDA's comprehensive strength in academic research, technical projects, and standard innovation. It is worth noting that the NIDA Alliance will soon establish an IPv6 security standard working group. As the vice chairman of the working group, MMU University will play a key role in the internationalization of NIDA standards.
