World Standards Day: NIDA Reaches Strategic Cooperation with Kazakh Internet Association to Promote Network Innovation and Development in Central Asia
[Shenzhen, October 14, 2025] The theme event of the 2025 World Standards Day was held at the Hetao Science and Technology Innovation Center in Shenzhen with the theme of "Standards Enablement Industry, Cooperation to Create a Winning Future". The conference was hosted by the Office of the Leading Group for the Work of a Strong Manufacturing City and a Strong Quality City in Shenzhen, the Shenzhen Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, and hosted by the Shenzhen Institute of Standards and Technology. Representatives from government agencies, international organizations, scientific research institutes and scientific and technological enterprises gathered together. Discuss the central role of standards in leading industry development and promoting global cooperation.
At the theme event, the Global Fixed Network Innovation Alliance (NIDA) and Kazakhstan Internet Association held a ceremony to launch the standard strategic cooperation. The guests attending the ceremony included Deng Yiou, Secretary-General of NIDA, and Shavkat Sabirov, President of Kazakhstan Internet Association. and relevant leading experts from Shenzhen Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission, Shenzhen Park Development Agency, Shenzhen Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, China Branch of BRICS Future Network Research Institute, and China Telecom Research Institute.

Deng Yiou, Secretary-General of NIDA, said that NIDA is committed to the development of network construction standards and network evolution. At present, NIDA has established three horizontal (Three network scenarios: AI campus network, AI bearer network, and AI data center network) Three verticals (three key industries: The network construction standard system for healthcare, education, and finance) is used to guide enterprises to build more innovative network infrastructures and promote network evolution and development.
As an international standards industry organization, NIDA is actively promoting global network construction innovation and network evolution. At the BRICS Future Network Innovation Forum held in Shenzhen in April 2025, NIDA launched the BRICS New Internet Pioneer City Construction Program. Cities from five countries joined the program and set their own innovation network construction goals. The city of Astana in Kazakhstan is one of them. In the promotion of the Pioneer City Program, NIDA cooperates deeply with Kazakhstan Internet Association to help Kazakhstan with network innovation and construction using NIDA's standard system.
As one of the first participants in the BRICS pioneer city construction program, Kazakhstan is actively learning from the advanced network planning and construction experience of other cities, especially Shenzhen, to build more innovative network infrastructure, said Shavkat Sabirov, President of the Kazakhstan Internet Association. NIDA's network construction standard system has amassed a large number of leading practices in China's industry, which is of great reference value for Kazakhstan's network construction. Kazakhstan Internet Association hopes to translate NIDA's network construction standards into Kazakh and Russian, and systematically introduce them to Kazakhstan's industry. The strategic partnership with NIDA will help improve the standardization and innovation level of network construction in Kazakhstan.
This strategic cooperation on standards is an important step in the internationalization of NIDA standards. At the same time, spreading the network construction standards that have accumulated excellent practices in China to overseas markets will help drive the domestic industry chain to go to sea, promote network innovation in related countries, and continuously inject "Chinese strength" into high-quality global industry development.
