Launch Ceremony of 2026 Achievements - BRICS Next-Generation Network Pioneer Cities Initiative

[Shenzhen, China, 16 June 2026] The 7th BRICS Forum on Future Networks Innovation was successfully held on Tuesday. As a key consensus reached at the previous forum, the "BRICS Next-Generation Network Pioneer Cities Initiative" unveiled a series of key achievements. Since the official launch of the Pioneer Cities Plan in Shenzhen in April 2025, the Network Innovation and Development Alliance (NIDA) has spearheaded its development. Under this initiative, multiple BRICS think tanks, industry organizations, and end-users have actively participated in standard adoption, network upgrades, and joint innovation. Several NIDA standards have now completed pilot deployments in Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, as well as in Shenzhen and Nanjing, China. This marks a comprehensive transition of the New-Generation Internet standards system from consensus to practice, propelling BRICS cooperation on next-generation network standards to deeper and broader levels.

The widespread adoption of NIDA standards across multiple countries, industries, and customers highlights the deepening mutually beneficial cooperation in the network sector among BRICS nations and their global partners.From joint standard development to practical application, and from technological R&D to real-world scenario deployment, the Global Pioneer Plan for New-Generation Internet is advancing steadily. It continues to drive interconnectivity, as well as mutual recognition and sharing of standards, for next-generation network technologies. Looking ahead, all parties will continue to uphold the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits. By deepening technological exchanges, standard alignment, and industrial cooperation, they will continuously unleash innovation momentum and work hand in hand to usher in a new era of global digital connectivity and network innovation.
